I'm home sick with a sick kid today and thought I'd finish shepherding the stray Spaiku homewards. Guess I'm gonna have to start writing some new ones now, huh? Or do some actual housekeeping . . .

"Tabula Rasa" Spaiku
Author:
mere_ubu
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Spike and Buffy will never be mine. *sobs* I'm okay with it. Really.
A/N: A little more magic & consequences. Four angsty haiku from the final moments of "Tabula Rasa," BtVS, S6. Written for the Spring 2008 round of
seasonal_spuffy and dedicated to the always-inspirational
beanbeans.
Feedback is even better than narcotic cough syrup.

I.
The farce is over.
No relief from the stark truth:
everyone leaves her.
II.
Numb with misery,
she spurns his silent offer.
Fine--he's had enough.
III.
Stricken, she jumps up,
goes after him, determined
to make someone stay.
IV.
Ravenous kisses:
the spell may be broken, but
they’re no less bewitched.

This between-scene haiku shows Buffy's desperation.

Love your words -stark, numb, stricken. That kiss was wonderful, but Buffy was in a bad place.
Your spaiku always bring the episode to life.

And thanks for the lovely Christmas card! I got it yesterday and it's on my mantel. I'm so pokey that I usually send out New Year's cards, so look for yours in a little bit. (Hey, at least I try to get them out before Groundhog Day! Heh.)

And hey, I'm an enormous dork, too. I'm convinced we have more fun in life than the people who have to be sophisticated and ironic all the time.

Whoa. That just blows me away. I'm speechless and in awe at the beautiful simplicity of it.

Wow, thank you. Sometimes I feel a little nervous about the more serious sets of haiku, and it means a lot to me that you liked these.
