Today is the birthday of my favorite romantic, the lovely [livejournal.com profile] jamalov29. As a fandom newbie, I’ve found her journal to be a treasure trove of fic recs, beautiful picspam, and fun JM fangirl squee. Indeed, I’ve come to think of Caroline as a Spuffy goodwill ambassador, generously sharing the love wherever she goes. With that in mind, I wanted to make a sweet birthday greeting with Spike and Buffy just for her.

the course of doll!love never did run smooth . . . )
Today is the birthday of [livejournal.com profile] molly_may, mistress of meta, and [livejournal.com profile] penny_lane_42, writer of some of the most hauntingly lovely Spuffy fic I've ever read. Since I missed the way talented and graphically prolific [livejournal.com profile] buffy_the_vamp6's New Year's Eve birthday, I thought that I would throw a little joint journal party. Towards that end, I gathered up my Spike dolls and got to work. Three birthday girls, three vamps. Piece of cake, right?

plastictastic birthday celebration right this way! )

I just wanted to pop in quickly and thank everyone for a wonderful first year in the fandom. I've had a blast getting to know y'all better and consider your presence in my life a blessing each and every day. *big hugs* I'd like to say more about how rough this year has been for a lot of people and how sincerely I hope that 2009 brings more bright moments for all of us, but someone is growing impatient and wants to "get this bloody party started already!"

fancy a spot of bubbly? )
I'm home sick with a sick kid today and thought I'd finish shepherding the stray Spaiku homewards. Guess I'm gonna have to start writing some new ones now, huh? Or do some actual housekeeping . . .

"Tabula Rasa" Spaiku
Author: [livejournal.com profile] mere_ubu
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: Spike and Buffy will never be mine. *sobs* I'm okay with it. Really.
A/N: A little more magic & consequences. Four angsty haiku from the final moments of "Tabula Rasa," BtVS, S6. Written for the Spring 2008 round of [livejournal.com profile] seasonal_spuffy and dedicated to the always-inspirational [livejournal.com profile] beanbeans.
Feedback is even better than narcotic cough syrup.

four spaiku: tabula rasa )
Today is the birthday of [livejournal.com profile] petzipellepingo, Our Lady of the Library and fangirl extraordinaire. The steady stream of information and encouragement that she provides on a daily basis is an invaluable resource to her flist, and I'm grateful to be a recipient of both. (Honestly--lately, it seems that everything I know, I learned from her!) Mindful that Thanksgiving is fast approaching, I would like to make a seasonally appropriate birthday offering.

no turkey here, but I was able to find a little ham . . . )

forty-three spaiku: crushed )
Well, I guess I've forestalled tearing off this Band-Aid as long as I possibly can, but I have to admit that I somehow feel personally guilty for dispatching him! Good night, Mr. Pratt. *pets him* Sorry to do this to you. BtVS, S5, PG.  Warning: character death. :(
Previous parts here. Thanks to Mister Beta for playing haiku View-Master with me.

You know how I said there was only one more batch of William haiku to go? As I feared, a Brownie drop-out's honor is, indeed, not good for much. Every time I think I have a scene down to irreducible parts, it shivers into ever smaller pieces. Darn JM and his multilayered performance! Darn him to heck! Honest and for true, though, this is the next-to-last-one. Yep. Many thanks to Mister Beta for long-distance concrit and to [livejournal.com profile] philips for emergency haiku rescue. BtVS, S5. PG. Previous parts here.

four spaiku: temptation )
This is my next-to-last batch of William haiku. Scout's honor! (Okay, I was never actually a Girl Scout, but "Brownie dropout's honor" just doesn't have the same ring to it.) In this installment, William first looks upon the face of his salvation. BtVS, S5. G. (Previous parts here.)

five spaiku: fascination )
Well, it looks like I'm still too preoccupied with William to leave him behind just yet. Here we find him alone, and we're not the only ones. . .
BtVS, S5. G. (Previous parts here.)

I've kind of fallen off the haiku horse in the whirl of the past couple of weeks, but I'm ready to wrangle it again. I'll return to the "Fool for Love" series sometime in the next few days, but I never seemed to have the right notebook with me at SC3 to continue work on them. I kept coming across an old grocery list notebook with some lines scrawled in it that have been stubbornly refusing to coalesce into haiku for many weeks. Every time I pawed through my Curious George backpack, they mocked me, so I tinkered vengefully with them between sessions. From "Triangle," BtVS, S5. Spike whales on a mannequin. PG.

Here are a few "Doomed" haiku. I'm not sure if I'm on a Season Four Roll or in a Season Four Rut, but hey, that's just the bag I'm in right now. I blame the Hawaiian Shirt Spike doll. (And the drugs. Which, thank heavens, I'm enjoying more needing less with every passing day.)
Thanks to Mister Beta for his help.

A few from S4.
A/N: "Patches" is my nickname for Adam. (That and "Patch Adams.") I guess I'm just not impressed enough with his stature in the Buffy pantheon of villains (or his makeup) to refrain from mocking him.

three spaiku: the yoko factor/primeval )
mere_ubu: (nasty british & short)
( Mar. 13th, 2008 12:46 pm)
Disclaimer: the following haiku is not mine!

Soo, last night, I was re-viewing "Primeval" with Haiku Beta Bob (sorry honey, but I'm just never going to call you Mister Beta, 'cause, eww) when I heard words fall into a familiar pattern and scrambled for the remote. "Dude, gimme, I think Spike just spoke in haiku!" Sure enough, here are the first lines of chapter 10 in perfect 5-7-5 syllabic formation:

"It's Must-See TV:
Bait's been taken, trap's all set. . .
Slayer has landed."

Aw, yeah.  Spike's got mad haiku skilz. (Would we expect anything less?)
